Use Your eBooks To Build Your List

Welcome back! We are on part 6 of this series and today we are going to talk about how you can use eBooks to build your list. It is a fun and creative way to grow your list that’s terribly underused. In this segment, I’m exploring how to use my Book Series: A Life Transformed: A Self-Guided Journey to Release Anxiety and Embrace Your Inner Power (see Clarity Freedom and Peace) to grow my list.  Have you thought about writing and selling eBooks on Amazon? It doesn’t really matter how or where you sell your electronic books, they are a perfect medium for growing your list.

Build Your List With eBooks

Do you sell or give away eBooks? They can be PDF documents or any other format you use. How about Kindle books? If you are new to marketing strategies you may not have known that you can use your eBooks to grow your list. This strategy works particularly well if you’re selling at least some of your books to audiences outside of your own circle of influence. With Amazon Kindle (you can find my books here) that happens naturally as others discover your books and Amazon cranks up its marketing machine and recommends your book to readers interested in similar books.

It also happens when affiliates promote your other eBooks, or readers find them in popular marketplaces like Clickbank and JVZoo or via social media and search engines. Be sure to take advantage of any instance where your ebook (be it paid or free) reaches further than your blog or website.

Lead Them to Your Offer

So, my research says that you can reach more people by adding complimentary content. Think of the topic of your book. Is there something else your readers would be interested in? Even better, try to come up with complimentary content that would make a good printable. For example, if you have a Kindle cookbook, offer printable versions of the recipes. If you have written a how-to book, create a printable checklist or workbook that readers can use as they work through the book. The idea is to entice the majority of your readers to click through, sign up for your list and download the printable. For that to happen, be sure to mention the offer for the extra content several times throughout your book.

(I’m still thinking about how to add to the reader experience with my series. Be sure to check back at the beginning of 2023 and see what I came up with.)

Using Bonus Content

Have you ever stumbled upon a single volume of a Fiction series? I have.  I wanted to know what the other stories were, was there another series based on the first? Bam! I was hooked.  If your fiction world involves a large, sprawling family, make a pretty family tree graphic and offer it as a printable download (When I finally found one for the book I had read, I was excited!). Whoa, it really is that easy to use your eBook to grow your list! 😲

For fiction books, you can go a few different routes depending on your genre and your book. Do you have a short story or novella written that gives further insight into one of your main characters? Maybe it’s a prequel or a little side story that didn’t make it into the main book. Offer that as a free download for subscribers.

If you’ve created a whole new world or a new vocabulary, you could create a printable map or a small dictionary of terms for your readers to get them on your list. The key is to get creative and come up with something fun or useful that will make them want to sign up. What I like about this is that it is fun for me to create and useful for my readers. I am all about adding value!

Maybe you can’t think of anything right now, no worries. Keep it simple and set up an opt-in page on your website (or on one of the free autoresponders I reviewed in part 2) where readers can sign up to be notified of future book releases.

Join me next time as we explore using affiliates to grow your email list. Have you ever signed up to be an affiliate for a product you especially like? Do you have an established affiliate program?  I’m not there yet, but I had to know how it helps me grow my email list.

Until next time…

All the Best,

Patricia
